Citrus Heights, Sacramento County
Citrus Heights lies about 14 miles northeast of downtown Sacramento, beside Interstate 80 on the way to the Sierra foothills. Sunrise Mall opened here in 1972 and made the corner of Sunrise Boulevard and Greenback Lane one of the busiest shopping districts in the region. Several creeks cross the city, lined with oak woodland and walking trails.
